Crime Prevention Coordination Branch (CPCB) is one of the branches of the National, Provincial Coordination and Crime Prevention Division (NPCCPD). The branch aims to coordinate crime prevention programs in partnership with the stakeholders. Decisions of National Coordination Mechanism (NCM),

White Paper Policy 2007, established the Crime Prevention Coordination Branch in 2012.

Responsibilities

  • Foster and establish crime prevention partnerships.
  • Support Justice Administration Services.
  • Monitoring & Evaluation and Reporting of crime prevention programs.
  • Coordinate Crime Prevention programs.
  • Promote good governance.
  • Encourage Community Leaderships.
  • Research and Publication of crime Trends and Behaviour.

Community Engagement

Community Engagement is one of the four sections under the Crime Prevention Branch of the Department of justice and Attorney General established to create linkages with government agencies and CSOs partnerships in crime prevention programs/projects and activities. The section is responsible for community engagement program which is to initiate and engage with the communities, stakeholders, service providers, Corporate Agencies, Business Houses and solicit funding for all crime prevention programs/projects. This also includes profiling of existing and potential crime prevention partners before formal engagement with the partners.
